Brian's Oklahoma University Quilt

I went to OK last year to visit my best friend since childhood. She had recently retired from the military and I made her a quilt as a gift. While there we went fabric shopping and after learning that her husband Brian loves Oklahoma University we came across this fabric so I decided I was going to make a "thank you" gift for him as I took up all of his wife's time for the week I was there visiting.

I had a hard time figuring out a pattern to use as fussy cutting the blocks wasn't working very well and when I sewed my 1/4" seams I was losing the images on the 4 patch squares so I purchased a quilt book titled LavenderLime which contained several patterns designed with panels and large scale prints in mind. This pattern is called Panel and Chain. I still need to add a 3" inner border and a 7" outer border. This currently measures 40 1/2" x 60 1/2" so once I add the borders it will be a good size for Brian since he's very tall. I hope he'll like it.

Boxtrot Quilt in Red, White & Black

I walked into my lqs The Bunkhouse Quilt Shop and this new fabric line was the first thing I saw. I fell in love with it and had to have it. Right next to it was a pattern called Boxtrot which was perfect for large scale prints like the floral in this line. I went home and cut out all my pieces and made my boxes right away and the next morning I sewed all my rows together and the top was finished. I absolutely love it. Although my favorite color is green there is something about red, white and black fabrics that I'm just drawn to. I will definitely be keeping this quilt for myself.

Butterfly Crib Quilt

This crib sized quilt was made with leftover fabrics from Hannah's butterfly quilt. I may add another border if I can still find some of the same bright fabrics as I don't really like the black for the final outer border.

Hannah's Butterfly Quilt

I made this quilt for my son David to give to his sister Hannah as a Christmas gift this year.
I loved the butterfly print fabric and thought the bright colors were perfect for a young girl.

Tyler's Car Quilt

I made this quilt for my son David to give to his brother Tyler as a Christmas gift this year.
I asked my ex-husband if his son Tyler was into sports or anything like that so I would have an idea of what type of quilt to make but he said Tyler wasn't really into anything so I decided to go with the cars since at some point he will most likely be interested in them. I love the fabrics especially the road map print.

Giant Star Block Quilt

I saw a photo of a quilt like this online and thought it was the perfect pattern as I was looking to make a quick and simple yet nice looking quilt. I have to say this was one of the easiest quilt tops I've made and I absolutely love it. I actually made two of them (identical).
